STEVEN MIYAO is a father, entrepreneur, consultant, and an advocate for corporate “good”.

Steven is an expert in the means by which companies transform themselves through adopting a holistic approach to doing “good”. As founder and CEO of kasina, Steven has overseen the company's growth from a young startup into one of the most influential strategy consulting firms in the financial services sector. kasina's family of clients represents over $8 trillion in assets under management.

At age 27, after running the financial services e-business consulting practice at McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, Steven made the leap and founded his own company. His continuous interest and involvement with altruistic organizations such as PeaceGames, CentsAbility, Mutual Funds Against Cancer (MFAC), and vertextList, helped Steven to envision a unique workplace founded on corporate ethics and social awareness. Steven is deeply committed to environmental protection and frequently introduces new eco-friendly gadgets to the kasina.

As an innovator and thought-leader in the industry, Steven provides forward-looking advice to the world's leading companies. He shares his insights in the form of lectures and seminars for various industry institutions, such as the Investment Company Institute (ICI), the National Investment Company Service Association (NICSA), Dublin Funds Industry Association (DFIA), Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry, and NYU Stern School of Business. He is frequently mentioned in business and trade media such as The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, BusinessWeek, and numerous other trade publications.

In addition to innovating the asset management industry, Steven is also a founder of the kasina Youth Foundation (www.kasinafoundation.org), a unique not-for-profit organization dedicated to invigorating and improving the education of children. He is also an active SLT and PTA parent at his son's local public school.

Steven was born in Tokyo and raised in Munich, but appears to have settled in the East Village for good. When he's not running the company, Steven likes to plant vegetables upstate, explore the contemporary art and music scenes in New York, snowboard, practice yoga, and spend time with his son Sebastian and his girlfriend Sienna.
