Philanthropic arm of Google
Google, like many progressive companies, are seeing the need to help. Google created a foundation, google.org, which focuses on global poverty, energy and the environment.
Their site highlights some of their "initial commitments" like Acumen Fund (a non-profit venture fund that invests in market-based solutions to global poverty), TechnoServe (helps budding entrepreneurs turn good business ideas into thriving enterprises), Water Research (to support research in western Kenya to identify ways to better water quality) and PlanetRead (seeking to improve literacy in India using same-language subtitling).
Hello there. Saw you're blog on recent updates and I thought I'd drop by to have a look. Checked out google.org. There are so many charities these days for so many different purposes and yet our situation has yet to improve, however I guess the change will come all in due time. Keep on blogging!
